*The difference between up-rated and full-rated motor
lies in service factor. The service factor is a multiplier
that is used in calculating the total output of a motor at a
given voltage and rpm. For example, the output of an up-rated
1HP motor with
a service factor of 1.0 would be equivalent to that of a full
rated 3/4HP motor with a service factor of 1.34. Under normal
circumstances you would need an up-rated motor whose HP is
equal to or larger than the motor that you're replacing. |
